Our Staff

Tonya Windsor, PT

Tonya has been a licensed physical therapist since 2000. She first attended Ball State University before receiving her BS in Physical Therapy at the Indiana Purdue University of Indianapolis in 2000.

Tonya has worked in a variety of settings including orthopedics, aquatics, pediatrics, and sports physical therapy focusing on manual therapy. She would describe herself as a continued education guru. Since 2003 she started training extensively with John F. Barnes, founder of Myofascial Release. She now instructs with him nationwide. Her interests include swimming, volleyball, ballroom dancing, and spending time with her husband and two wonderful children.

Tonya and Heather founded Hands On Physical Therapy, LLC. in May 2008. Starting their own clinic allowed them to continue to treat each patient with a holistic approach using their manual skills. The team approach and one-on-one attention for a full hour was essential to help their patients reach their goals of attaining a pain free, active, vibrant lifestyle.

Heather Christlieb, PT, MTC

Heather graduated from Indiana University in 2001. She was employed in an out-patient orthopedic clinic since graduation and worked her way up to clinic director while managing a staff of seven. She continued this route for four years before deciding to branch out with Tonya Windsor, PT to open their own clinic.

In 2006 she received her manual therapy certification from St. Augustine University.

She is now rounding out her continued education with John Barnes Myofascial release courses. Heather worked with a local plastic surgeon for six years developing a protocol following breast reconstruction using the TRAM and LDF technique. She observed multiple surgeries and then followed up with nearly 100 patients over those years. The technique used in this protocol focuses on using myofascial release for scar adhesions. This method was then expanded to include all scars and fibrosis following multiple surgical procedures.

Her interests include time with her two children, family and friends, cooking, reading, and exercising.

Anne Dennis, MS, PT

Anne decided to become a physical therapist in high school but it took another 5 years to begin her college journey. After completing undergrad at Indiana-Purdue in Fort Wayne, she was accepted into the University of Indianapolis’ Krannert Graduate School of Physical Therapy and graduated with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy degree in 1988.

She spent the next 11 years treating and specializing in geriatrics and neuro rehabilitation. At the pinnacle of that era of her career, she grew a small one-person PT department into a large, fully staffed rehabilitation unit offering physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and respiratory services for both inpatients and outpatients. She received her board certification as a Geriatric Clinical Specialist in 1988.

After a personal health crisis, Anne began seeking new treatment modalities for herself and her patients while changing her practice focus to breast cancer rehab and chronic pain. She sought out advanced training in lymphedema via the Vodder method, Upledger’s Craniosacral Therapy, and Myofascial Release via John F. Barnes. She gained valuable experience and training in women’s health PT and has spent the last 6 years specializing pelvic floor rehab in both men and women. She became a Reiki Master in 2008.

Anne feels that being part of Hands On Physical Therapy was her best next step. She has expressed a new level of joy in helping her patients along on their journey of healing and working with some of the best therapists in the Midwest. She continues her study of Myofascial Release with John Barnes. Her other loves are her husband, Mark, and teenage son, Tim, the menagerie of pets they have at home, and her study of martial arts.

Angie Balsmeyer, PTA, CMT

Angie has been with Hands On PT since Sept 2009. She moved to Fort Wayne from Jasper, IN where she worked in an orthopedic outpatient setting for 14+ years after receiving an associate’s degree in physical therapy in 1995. In 2003, Angie began training in myofascial release with John F. Barnes and continues to further her education. She has also received certification in Indiana as a massage therapist. In her previous setting, she worked with a diverse patient population including sports and job related injuries, post surgical, fibromyalgia, migraines and TMJ, to name a few. During her career, Angie also trained high school athletes in a sports conditioning program. Her interests include sports, cooking, reading, skating and visiting her 2 children. AND she’s freakin’ awesome!!!!
